Historia de la computadora

The History of Computers

The word computer comes from many years ago. It was the term given to people who did calculations using mechanical calculators such as the slide rule and abacus. Today,a computer is an electronic device that allows us to input data, stored it, process it and do different manipulations with the data quickly and efficiently. Who invented the computer? is not aquestion with a simple answer. The real answer is that many inventors contributed to the history of computers and that a computer is a complex piece of machinery made up of many parts, each of whichcan be considered a separate invention.

Computer help to do complicated work much easier and much simpler. For example you can perform changes to a letter written in a word processor. You canedit the letter anytime, you can spell check the letter, you can move text from one part of the letter or another and you can even move text from another document into the letter. This is just a fewof the different things a computer can do.

The first patent for a working computer was the ENIAC; it was built during World War II. These computers were so large that they filled whole rooms. They were so complicated that only specially trained people were able to use them. They were only found in big businesses, Universities, or government buildings. Many different types of computer wereinvented afterwards. Inventions have evolved and are still evolving. Later, computers began utilizing transistors as well as smaller and cheaper parts that allowed the common person to own theirown computer. Some basic computer terminologies are as follows: Desktop, My Documents, Document Files, Icons, Save, Save As, Scroll bar, Shut down, etc. These are just a few, there are many more.Today, most people have a computer in their home. They are an integral part of our everyday day lives and help us accomplish the most simple of tasks,
